Twelve militants laid down their arms in the troubled Bajaur tribal agency while the Afghan refugees continued returning to their homeland from the area in large numbers on the second day of a three-day deadline to leave the area.

KHAR: Twelve tribal militants have surrendered to the authorities in Bajaur Agency on Monday.

Atmankhel tribe is holding a jirga to hand over the local militants who laid down their arm Monday before Political Administration.

Salarzai and Mamond tribes are also holding separate anti-militants jirga in Bajaur Agency today (Monday). Important decisions are being expected against the local militants in the two jirga.

Strict security arrangements have been made by the local administration before the all-important jirga. A large number of Levis personnel have been deployed.

On the other hand, security forces carried out strikes on militants’ positions in Zorbandar and Sabagi areas of Khar. However, there was no report of casualties. Helicopter gunships are doing aerial surveillance in various parts of the volatile agency.

Meanwhile, most of the Afghan refugees are returning to their country on the second day of a three-day deadline given to them for leaving the Mamond tehsil. Afghan refugees are migrating in large number.

It is time that the militants must surrender but reforms in the political system in FATA is too much mandatory. 99 percent people are against the Dictatorship of the Political Agent. peole of the area are not ready to  tolarate the rottan and outadated system.

people  told me that Politcal system Malik system and Mullas are the agents of the impralist powers. They said we need freedom of expression and social, Political and Economic rights like europe and America but the rulers of Pakistan always denied our basic Human  Rights.Islamabd always promoted these relegious Militants just to keep the slavery system in practice.

Thanks for comments. You are right. I too have learnt from a few friends belonging to the tribal areas about the people's resentment against the existing system. I think besides changing this system, much more is needed to be done to deal with the situation but you would agree that use of brutal force is no solution.

But what is the option?

90 percent youths in Bajur  told me that they are against  the worst form of relegious slavery.

Relegious leaders and governmet are the two faces of the coin. they said that they are hopfull that Asif Zardar will bring some positive change. their is no differance between Kashmiri and FATA trerriorests

Relegious leaders and governmet are the two faces of the coin . . .

They are, true.  Here in the West it would be Church rather than religious leaders, but the principle is the same.

we are sorry that teachers of terriorism like Mulana Fazal Rehman, Qazi and Samiul Haq are free to continue their anti human activities.
