13 Dear and Stag dead in Kanpur Zoo: India

World spends millions to protect animals, and India doesn't lag behind as far as money part is concerned for same purpose. But unfortunately what we do is make them live in artificial home, so called Zoo, for the sake of useless entertainment.
In a tragic incident here in Kanpur, 13 Dear found dead early in the morning. Cause of the death is still a mystery. Zoo keepers are not in a position to give any explanation, till the postmortem report comes.

Thirteen deer and a stag died under mysterious circumstances in Kanpur zoo early today, zoo officials said here.

This has left officials clueless as to what led to their sudden death.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem.

"When the zoo-keeper today went out for routine checking he found as many as 14 dead animals lying there," director of Kanpur Zoo, K Praveen Rao, said today.

He said the animals were fine till yesterday and were given food on time.

"The zoo officials have seized the food that was given to them yesterday. Along with their bodies it will be sent to Indian Veterinary Research Institute for testing," he added.
