134 Tamils brutally murdered and 208 persons injured in the death zone of the " newly assigned "security zone" yesterday and today. [ Tuesday, 17 February 2009, 08:35.59 AM GMT +05:30 ] Sri Lanka air raids and artillery attacks were towards "peoples defense zone" in the Mullaitheevu district, areas of Mullivaaikkal, Ambalavanpokkanai, Puthukudiyiruppu, Puthumathalan and Kombavil which lead 134 tamils brutally murdered and 208 persons injured.

During the night on Saturday at about 10.15 p.m , due to the cluster bomb attack by the Sri Lanka forces towards the Kombawil area, 13 Tamils were brutally murdered .
The Two families named Mahendran and Pathmanathan, were killed with all their members.

An artillery attack took place at Mullivaaikkal area on Saturday night by the Sri Lanka forces which lead four Tamils being brutally killed, but their bodies are not still identified.

Sri Lanka forces after declaring "Security zone" had attacked Puthumaathalavan where people were sheltered in multitude, continuous attacks were initiated in the said area, in the intention of murdering the innocent civilians.

On Saturday another incident at Puthumathalan area, while people were moving , the Sri Lankan forces were on target attacks towards them with artillery and double barrel missiles.
On this attack 12 boys including 78 Tamils were killed and 132 persons were injured.

Attack towards "Peoples Security zone" at Puthumathalan was on Sunday by the Sri Lanka forces by artillery missiles, double barrels which lead 6 Tamil persons brutally murdered and 17 persons injured. In the same area in the afternoon at 3.00 p.m, Sri Lanka forces were in similar attacks towards the same vicinity, which destroyed 12 Tamils and 38 persons injured.

S.Yoganantharasa aged 47
V.Nishanthan aged 26

C.Nagawathani were idenitified.

0ther than this, two males and a female body were not identified.

On Sunday the Mullivaaikaal "Peoples Security zone" which was a living place for people was attacked at 1.00 p.m by the Sri Lanka air raids which lead 2 Tamils brutally murdered.

The same day, the security zone at Ambalavanpokkanai was attacked at 7.35 p.m during the night by the Sri Lanka forces, with artillery missiles which lead one boy dead and five Tamils being injured.

People were targeted in the Puthukudiyiruppu area on Saturday at 10.00 p.m in the night by the Sri Lanka forces, on a cluster bomb attack which killed 14 persons of three families, which include 5 boys and 4 females.

Three families from Poonagari who had been displaced several times and ultimately was living at Puthukudiyiruppu in a temporary hut were brutally murdered due to the cluster bomb attack by the Sri Lanka forces. On the spot members of the three families were killed. Bodies were buried by the Tamil Welfare society which they had temporarily excavated for open sanitary conditions was stated.
