I can't even begin to describe what an absolute mess it is up here right now, with Obama coming, tons of groups protesting his commencement address at Notre Dame, other groups protesting the protesters, the annual Lataere Medal recipient turning the honor down because Obama's coming...the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese denouncing the school's decision to invite him, the South Bend Tribune asking on it's Sunday front page "Is Notre Dame Catholic Enough?", and airplane banners and sign trucks all over town displaying pictures of aborted fetuses and anti-Choice messages more or less comparing Obama to Mengele. Alan Keyes and a group of protestors were arrested for demonstrating on the campus on Friday.
Seriously: enough. Even devout, religious friends of mine, pro-life as the day is long...have had enough (just like us horrible pro-choice people have...)
Can't we agree to disagree and get on with our lives without my daughter seeing dead babies everywhere we drive?
This is my last comment about this. I'm hopeful things will be peaceful this weekend at Notre Dame.
