My first motorcycle *sniff*. I couldn't even really remember riding when I was a teen, even though I did, so learning again was starting from scratch.

I try to make my motorcycle safety my responsibility as much as possible. I can't control everything (and everyone else) on the road, but I ride as safely and defensively as possible. I wear a helmet, jacket, long pants and real shoes whenever I go out, and passengers can't get on the back unless they are wearing a helmet as well.

I just shake my head when I see people riding without gear. Yes, the wind feels good, but I am a grownup and I know I can feel the wind after I get off the bike - alive and happy.

Hello,

I owned this bike in High School, bought it new in 83 as a leftover and loved it. Sold it when I went into the air force and have missed it ever since. I recently found one in Penn. and bought it and am having a blast riding it and enjoying the memories of when i was young, Now I,m just a middle aged crazy Dad.

Enjoy  riding and stay safe,

Tom

I just picked up the 1983 Seca in same bergundy color. Came with factory fairing/windscreen, I'm loving it! I, like Steve, put on everything before riding. That's the difference between us and the younger riders (I'm 37). As invincible as they are, they can't control what the nutjob in the car/truck/SUV does. Which one am I supposed to be better protected in: my 3,300lb Camry, or 525lb Seca? Anyways, I'm happy to be riding again. I'm gonna have to start attending clubs/gatherings and such. You guys have a good and safe one!

Just picked up an 1982 Seca 750.

Originally was  Red....someone had rattle canned it satin black.

Would like to get the paint code to repaint it Red.

Does anyone know where the front brake fluid reservoir is on this motorcycle ? I just replaced the calipers after 25 yrs but cant find the brake fluid reservoir (the owners manual doesnt say where it is). Thanks, could you e-mail me at hnoppe@sbcglobal.net

Follow the brake cable, leads to the brake cylinder and reservoir.

I found a luggage rack/backrest for this bike and just put it on this weekend. Now I am in search of the trim pieces on the sides, right side covers the battery. I'll have to update the pic!

They are the same thing - the Seca 750 is the XJ750. I would hit craigslist in various metro areas, and I am thanking my lucky stars I'm not looking for parts right now! My bike is running great, and I'm having a lot of fun on it this summer. I've got a great mechanic, and he loves keeping this bike running well.

Not really sure how I came across this site but I have a twin to your Seca.  If you are looking for repair help or parts for these Yamaha's go to www.xjbikes.com.  Lots of good help can be found there

I'm glad to see others had an affair with a 750 seca and not just me. I had an 81 in 1989 and I just bought another in 2007 and got it running and have had a blast riding it.
