This one day world wide event involving; 6 Continents, 47+ Countries in 244 cities with a possible total of 12,400 individuals participating, come rain or shine. In parts of the world it has already started because of times zones, Australia and New Zealand among other places may have already finished and it has yet to make a wave in the Europe and the Americas. Think of it, upwards of 12,400 people taking photos for two hours in 244 cities, with some cities having upwards of 4 groups (50 x 4 = 200 people) – that’s a lot of photos being taken on one day all over the world.
It’s called a photo walk where anyone can sign up from amateurs to professional and everyone in between, for those interested in photography. Most of these walks are free and all individuals have to bring is a camera and funds or supplies for themselves, most time there is a gathering afterward for chatting, food and/or drinks and viewing of what others took photos of during the walk. The group gathers at a set place and time and usually last a few hours in what is called the golden hours of the day – sunrise or sunset. It is when the light has a special hue in color and is ideal for photography or picture taking in the outdoors.  While the group may have a limit and most do. The groups in each of the cities today are limited to 50 individuals with a lead person who does the local work in getting them set up and I am told is more then a walk in the park. It’s a lot of work. I will be 1 of possible 12,400 people total tomorrow in the 1st photo walk world wide. It will be a great time and  people get to meet others with similar interests in the art of photography.

Here is a list of the countries that are participating:
