Two persons were kidnapped along with a vehicle Tuesday in Khanjar Killi area of tehsil Baizai near Pak-Afghan border some 55 kilometers to the north from regional headquarters, Ghallanai, sources told. According to details two persons whose names could not ascertain were kidnapped by some unknown gunmen along with their vehicle and were shifted to undisclosed place from the Khanjar Killi, a well-known village in restive tehsil Baizai, bordering with the Afghan province Kunar. Tehsil Baizai has become a hot hub of militants and local militants have assembled over the border area where several clashes have been occurred from time to time with security forces. Militants have captured 33 security personnel after a bloody clash a few days ago in the same area and have demanded release of their detained colleagues for exchange of the held soldiers. They have also blown up a government school in the same tehsil yesterday.

It sounds like there are several groups fighting for control: 1) government, 2) tribes, and 3) militant offshoots. The militant offshoots are not satisfied by the local tribal leaders and are at war with the government.

In order for there to be a rule of law and a nation, the government must be assertive and must earn the respect and cooperation of local tribal leaders.

From where do the militants get their strength: supplies, weapons, and ammunition?

Khalid sent me an email a couple days ago that he had to go underground for a while because of the Taliban.
