The deaths onboard Flight 93, which augered into a field in Pennsylvania due to the courage of passengers who stopped it from getting to Washington will be forever honored by a gift hewn of loss and remembrance. Although some would have us believe that the enemies who planned and executed 9/11 were not real, and do not still try to wage jihad or other acts of terrorism, those who remember know differently.
As hundreds of firefighters bowed their heads in prayer, a cross made out of steel from the World Trade Center was dedicated Sunday near where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into the ground on Sept. 11.
The 2-ton, 14-foot high cross sits on a concrete base shaped like the Pentagon at the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Co., just a few miles from where the plane crashed into a field. The cross made a 311-mile journey from Brooklyn on Saturday, accompanied by hundreds of motorcyclists, many of them current or retired New York firefighters.
"We wanted to find a home for this steel," said Paddy Concannon, a retired lieutenant from the Fire Department of New York. "This is an effort on our part to tie the three events together: the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Shanksville."
The cross is not part of the official $58 million Flight 93 National Memorial. That memorial will be built in phases and is expected to about 40 percent complete by the 10th anniversary of the attacks.

PEP, I like this story. It's good stuff. This is great. Now let's hope that the pressure to prevent the official Flight 93 Memorial from seeming to honor the Islamic terrorists who commandeered flight 93 is successful.

PEP, I like this story. It's good stuff. Those guys on that flight were so brave! "Let's Roll!"
Questions do remain as to whether it was shot down by the US as a security measure.

My thanks to everyone who gave this story a flag-which I know is for those people on that flight. True heroes, all.
