2 Tornadoes Touch Down near Kansas City, MO

Here is a shout out to anyone in the Kansas City Area to provide footage to NowPublic on this developing story

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two brief tornado touchdowns were reported at about 9 p.m. Thursday near Belton, Mo.

The touchdowns were spotted near 215th and Prospect in Cass County, Mo., according to a National Weather Service preliminary local storm report. No damage was immediately reported in that area.

The touchdowns followed severe thunderstorms between about 7 and 8:30 p.m. that brought a tornado to Clinton County, Mo., and heavy rain, hail, lightning and wind to the Kansas City metropolitan area.

In Clinton County, the tornado touched down between Lathrop, Mo., and Plattsburg, Mo. A Clinton County sheriff's dispatcher said trees were down in the area but no damage was reported.
