By the act no 12/2008 about governor election; if no candidate reached 30% of the whole vote, there'll be 2nd election..

If the 1st round participated by 4 pairs of governor candidate, the 2nd round just participated by 2 pairs which has reached the highest vote in the 1st round..

The 2nd round will be held in September 2008, participated by candidate #1 (Awang Faroek Ishak and Farid Wadjdy) and candidate #2 (Achmad Amins and Hadi Mulyadi).. Officially announced on June 10th by Commission of General Election (Komisi Pemilihan Umum - KPU) of East-Kalimantan..

Candidate #1 (Awang Faroek Ishak and Farid Wadjdy) showed their protest upon act no 12/2008.. They forced the KPU to use act no 32/2004; that candidate just have to reach 25% from the total vote.. But this protest has deliberately ignored by KPU..
