30 cent jump overnight

Overnight, our diesel price took the biggest jump it's ever taken in one price hike.
We have a crooked jobber here, Cross Petroleum and he's always made prices artificially high here. They can be 40-60 cents lower in Redding which is 60 miles south of me, or in Medford Oregon which is 88 miles NORTH of me.
It causes hikes in food prices here to the point where we save at least 50% by biting the gas bullet and buying enough gas to get to Redding to shop for groceries.
For example: Idahoan flavored mashed potato packets, .79 each in Redding, $1.49 here. Milk, 2.75 a gallon there, 4 something here. Coffee, 5.98 in redding, $13.69 here for the EXACT SAME CAN. We spent $236 in Redding and comparing the prices of each item from Redding against Mt. Shasta, we would have been spending upwards to $480 for the same items.

Jobs here are VERY scarce, nearest town for any kind of job opportunity is 35 miles north or Redding, 60-70 miles south, depending on which end of town you work in. How can anyone afford to buy gas to get to work? I have to hitch hike to my dentist in Redding.

Did you ever notice (for those of you who are old enough) that during every election year the economy is manipulated to slant towards disaster so one party or the other can talk about what they'll do to change it? THAT is what is going on right now. Our economy is being artificially manipulated to give the democrats the edge in November.
