30ft waves lash North Yorkshire coast, snowstorm hits Germany

Seaside visitors diced with death as 30ft waves battered the North Yorkshire coast during a weekend of blizzards and snowstorms.

Driving snow pounded southern Germany and parts of the United Kingdom on Monday, sending plows and salt trucks to the streets more than two weeks after the official end of winter.
