KNTV in San Francisco is reporting that 24 people are stuck on the Invertigo ride with some riders up to 40 feet off the ground.The fire department is sending up water to riders as they work to bring them down.It is currently about 90 degrees in Santa Clara.

 

This was just reported on

CNN TV. There are no

reports so far on deaths or

injuries. Local TV news and

helicopters are at the scene.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Rescue crews are using an aerial ladder truck to remove 32 people stuck on a roller coaster at the Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara.

San Jose Fire Capt. Barry Stallard said firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. He had no additional details about the incident.

In television footage, the riders appear to be strapped in right side up.
