$4 in All But Name

I know the rest of the country is bracing for $4 gas; well it arrived in San Francisco. Actually, the gas station across the road from this one was $4.02 but it wasn't as picturesque as the 76 station with $3.99 9/10. What's with the 9/10's anyway? Do they think we're that stupid? "Oh it's only $3.99 and 9/10's so we haven't hit $4 yet."

So what is it like living with $4 gas? Well the world hasn't ended. Our two cars do cost more to fill but they both have sub-2 liter engines and get good mileage. If you have a 6ltr V8 Hummer it will cost a lot more to fill up but you made your own bed...

I'd love to see more European style small cars with better-than-Prius fuel economy over here. It seems like, if we have cheap gas we just squander it putting V8's in minivans and other ridiculousness. If higher prices are what it takes to get us to reconsider out consumption, so be it.
