Update Sep 20, 2008 11:47 pst New developments regarding the incident in which two people were shot and wounded after a football game in South Los Angeles. Both victims are in stable condition.

Four people have been arrested in connection to the shooting of a 12-year-old girl and a 19-year-old former student at a high school in an unincorporated part of South Los Angeles.

The arrests came Saturday, a day after the shootings at Washington Preparatory High School.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Detective Steve Pratt says the shootings were gang related.

The names of the suspects were not immediately released.

Reporting from my neighborhood in South Los Angeles. Officials say two people have been shot and wounded on at George Washinton Prep high school after a football game.

ATHENS, Calif. (KABC) -- Two people were reported shot Friday at George Washington Preparatory High School in the Athens area of south Los Angeles.

Two people were confirmed shot. Two others may also have been shot.

A 12-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were shot multiple times, according to L.A. County Fire Dept. Spokesman James Barnes. They were treated in the school's gym and were transported to a hospital.

The shooting occurred at 5:50 p.m.

According to County Fire Department spokesman James Barnes

a 12-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were both shot multiple times Friday night at Washington Preparatory High School in the Athens area.

Barnes says the two are hospitalized in critical condition.

Susan Cox, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Unified School District, says the shooting occurred in a parking lot outside the gymnasium at the end of a football game. She says the male victim was a student at the school last year.

Cox says one suspect was seen running east from the campus. No arrests have been made.
