4 US soldiers killed in Afghanistan
The sacrifice of soldiers on the soil of Afghanistan is still going on, latest toll is four US soldier. They came under attack while patrolling in southern Afghanistan.The details about the soldiers is not yet known.
Four US soldiers have been killed by a bomb in southern Afghanistan, a Nato spokesman has said.
Brig-Gen Eric Tremblay said they were struck "while patrolling in one of the most violent areas of Afghanistan", but did not give an exact location.
The deaths bring the number of foreign forces killed in Afghanistan in 2009 to 295, according to icasualties.org, which compiles official data.
The previous deadliest year was 2008, when 294 military personnel died.
In the latest violence, a bomb blast killed four U.S. troops in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, said military spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker. No other information was released pending the notification of family members.
The deaths bring to 41 the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this month, the second deadliest month in the country since the 2001 U.S. invasion. Last month a record 44 U.S. troops died.
The U.S. has more than 60,000 troops in the country, many of whom helped secure last week's nationwide election.

Thanks for this story Amitjha. I remember Vietnam and I personally knew many from my hometown that served there in combat. I don't like what's happening in Afghanistan and I don't like the U.S. military's approach--it reminds me too much of Vietnam . . . .

General McChrystal will ask the Commander in Chief to provide an additional 20,000 troops. I'm afraid you have it right Rory. This will be going on for some time to come and many more young brave men will be brought home to their final resting place.
