40 Car Pile Up On I-25 Near Larkspur, Douglas County, 12 Injured

Interstate 25 Monday near Larkspur ground to a halt as up to 40 vehicles were involved in a pileup that shut down I-25 to Northbound traffic.

Four semi-trucks were involved in four separate accidents. Douglas County troopers say a HazMat crew was required because one of the semi-trucks was leaking diesel fuel.

Authorities say seven people were taken to Sky Ridge Medical Center, two people were transported to Penrose Hospital, two were taken to Swedish Medical Center and one person was transported to Memorial Hospital North.

Troopers say all injuries were non life-threatening.
