Excerpts from some of the above sources:

Seventeen low-intensity blasts rocked Ahmedabad on Saturday evening killing 15 people and injuring over 100 others.

Gujarat Urban Development Nitin Patel confirmed that 15 people have died in the blasts.

The blasts happened in Maninagar, Sarkej, Isanpur, Narol circle, Bapunagar, Hatkeshwar, Sarangpur Bridge, Sarkhej, Odhav, Sardar Patel Market, Civil Hospital, Juhapura, Ambur Tower Building and Raipur.

Significantly two hospitals were also the target of attack.

Doctors at Vadilal Sarabhai hospital said 12 people died while there were several seriously injured persons receiving treatment.

The bombs were planted on cycles and tiffin boxes in crowded market places.

According to reports a woman has said that in Maninagar area she saw a boy in black shirt was on a cycle with tiffin tied to it, the blast took place minutes after he left.

India's President has called for calm after the bombings:

India's president and prime minister have appealed for calm after a series of explosions killed at least 38 people in the western city of Ahmedabad.

President Pratibha Patil urged people to "remain steadfast in this testing time and maintain peace and harmony".

I just spoke to my cousin who lives in ahmedabad, and according to him the most powerful blast had occurred outside the civil hospital where the injured were brought in, causing more casualties. my cousin's family had suffered tremendously during the gujarat riots a few years ago and i was most concerned for them after hearing the news from ahmedabad but could not reach them earlier as the lines were choked. these string of bomb-blasts both in india and pakistan, at  times targetted for none in particular but random, innocent people who may belong to any faith, leaves a very bad taste in our mouths.

azzayindia, surely neither Allah nor Bhagwan says that, but some crazy men (and women) who become playthings in the hands of their misguided 'spiritual ' leaders perform these acts (or are forced to) for their own salvation. what a tragedy!

I agree with Rumana !!!

Have we ever heard that any "spiritual leader or leaders"

have blown them sellf up !!!!

They just use poor missguided people to do this low act.

People wake up it is still time. Religion will not feed you. The hour you spend at work will feed you and your family. Religion should be in our heart to show us the right path. Not to follow these leaders who show only distruction and use us to move up.

No religion teaches to kill......PLEASE STOP !!!!  for the name of the CREATOR
