Fire Breaks Out in Hunts Point, The Bronx

A 5-alarm fire broke out at 754 Manida Street in Hunts Point (map). So far, seven people have been reported injured in the Bronx fire, including five firefighters. The fire started in a six-floor apartment building and spread to an adjoining brownstone.

Grand Concourse Blaze Reveals Large Number of Pit Bulls

Yesterday, an apartment-building fire on Grand Concourse in Fordham Heights revealed 15 pit bulls being kept in a single apartment. It took 60 firefighters several hours to get the blaze under control. The owner of the dogs has not been located.
