5 Pakistani cops hurt in second suicide hit of the day

At least five policemen were injured and two suicide bombers killed when the attackers rammed their explosive-laden car into a police checkpoint on motorway near Lahore, the capital city of the largest Punjab province of Pakistan, Monday evening. It was the second suicide attack of the day in the same province as earlier 35 persons were killed when a suicide bomber hit outside a bank in the garrison city of Rawalpindi in the morning.

LAHORE: Five policemen have been injured in a bomb blast at police check post near Babu Sabu Motorway Interchange, Geo News reported Monday.



The blast took place when a white Suzuki Mehran rammed into the police check post, sources said.



Rescue teams have reached the blast site.



The injured police personnel have been rushed to nearby hospital.
