School has started the perps are on the prowl. The list of Safety tips are to help you, your child and your family.

  • Get to know the route your children will take to and from school. Even if school has already started, this is a good practice. Take your kids with you while you do this. Afterwards, they will feel more comfortable traveling on their own. And, they will be assured that you know exactly where they will be at any given moment.

  • The buddy system is the safest way for children to travel. If your child does not have a buddy to wait for the bus or walk to and from school with, try to find another child in your neighborhood. You can also talk to the teacher about possible buddies.

  • Do not place your child's name or personal information in plain sight on clothing or a backpack. Predators can use this information to begin personal conversations  and gain a child's trust.

  • Establish a secret word in case your child needs to be picked up by someone other than a parent. Make sure the word is unusual and difficult to guess.

  • If anyone bothers or approaches your child, teach him to take 3 steps back, yell "NO!", run away quickly and tell a trusted adult as soon as possible. Reassure your children that if they make a mistake, you will support them. Mistakes are part of the learning process

  • . HOME SECURITY ROUTINES BRING PEACE OF MIND helps you form a checklist unfortunately we as families have had to start this due to the sick perpetrators in the world. They are not afraid to come into your home in the middle of the night and take your child. Yes they are bold and unforgiving. They have no feelings only the strong feeling of what they want at that time and they will get it. You are only a obstacle perpetrators will work around until he or she finds the right moment to archive their goal. It's too exciting to them the thrill of it all. So Mothers, Father, Sister, Brothers and all other family members. Keep your eyes an everything watch around you not just in front of you preps do a 360 not a 180.

  • HOME SECURITY ROUTINES BRING PEACE OF MIND

Creating daily home security routines can help family members feel safer while at home. You can involve the whole family in creating the routines and making them part of your family life.

A good idea is to begin by thinking about what important things need to be included. Here are some routine ideas:

    • When you leave the house during the day.

    • Leaving the house for a short time, like a quick dog walk.

    • The first person home in the afternoon/evening.

    • Children at home alone after school, before parents come home from work.

    • After dark hours.

    • The last person in at night.

    • Night lighting and lock requirements.

Parts of the routines can include:

    • Children not answering the door for anyone, if they are home alone.

    • Making your home look lived in.

    • Locking all the doors and windows every time you leave.

    • Making sure the outside and inside “night” lights are on.

    • Triple-checking all the doors and windows before going to bed.
