5 US troops killed in southern Afghan attacks
Todays news paper from across the world is flooded with Obama's new foreign policy stand, he argued world to rally behind pakistan to eliminate terrorism. But unfortunately, this news have no relevance for those five soldiers who died in southern Afghanistan today.
The military says five U.S. troops have died in attacks in southern Afghanistan, where American and NATO forces have ramped up operations against the Taliban.
Three troops died in a roadside bombing, one was shot to death by insurgents and another died in an attack while on patrol. The military statement released Friday said all five died Thursday.
Roadside bombs now account for the majority of U.S. and NATO casualties in what has been the deadliest year of the war for international forces and have proven especially deadly in the south, which is largely controlled by the Taliban.

Yes roadside bombs account for the majority of NATO deaths. Despite more training in detecting IEDs, this continues to be a major problem for NATO troops.

How well prepared the US troops are in Gurilla warfare is debatable, but when ever some troops die..in next two three days we find increase in drone attack......and unfortunately innocents along with one terrorist die.

An increase of drone attacks would fly in the face of General McChrystal's directive of winning minds and hearts. Interesting comment Amitjha.
