The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety conducted a crash test experiment pitting the 1959 Chevy Bel Air against the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.  They rammed the two cars head first into each other at 40 mph to test for car safety improvements in cars over the last 50 years.
