5th Global Investigative Journalism Conference to Be Held Soon
The Fifth Global Investigative Journalism Conference is going to be held from September 11 to September 14 at Lillehammer, Norway.
So far, 488 participants from 86 countries are reported to have registered. Nepal will be one of the participating nations.
There will be about 80 seminars in the conference focusing on investigative journalism methods and networking between journalists of different countries.
Journalists from different countries will have an opportunity for interaction and strengthening the global network of investigative journalists. Besides, the workshops offered during the conference will benefit the participants in general.
According to the program schedule published by the Global Investigative Journalism Conference-2008 Organization Committee, the formal opening program will be held on September 11 though the program host will welcome guests on September 10.
The organization committee states that the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided a grant of approximately 150,000 Euros to facilitate the participation of journalists from Africa, Asia, Russia, South and Latin America and the Caucasus.
The committee says that many journalists from developing nations have applied for a grant to participate in the conference.
