5th ODI: West Indies vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming -Tri Series 2013
West Indies vs Sri Lanka Live Streaming, 5th ODI Match of WI Tri-Series 2013 at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad played on July 7, 2013. Hosts West Indies would clash with Sri Lanka in a crucial 5th match of the Tri-Nation Series in Port-of-Spain in Trinidad on Sunday. The hosts would be assured of a place in the final with a win while a similar result for Sri Lanka would greatly enhance their chances of making it to the final.
Having won their first two games of the competition, including one with a bonus point against Sri Lanka, West Indies were brought crashing back to earth after a 102-run loss (D/L Method) to India on Friday. Their bowling looked ordinary compared to what they put up just a week before that against both India and Sri Lanka. Their death bowling in particular will be a huge cause of concern as they conceded over 100 runs in the last 10 overs. It also took them 23 overs to pick up India's first wicket, another sign that the bowlers didn't really make good use of conditions, either at the start or end of the innings. West Indies were also poor with the bat, as they slumped to 91-6, and never really got any sort of momentum in their innings. They would hope for the senior batsmen like Gayle, and Samuels to take some more responsibility, and string together a series of partnerships.
The West Indies will go into this game without their skipper Dwayne Bravo once again, who has been suspended for one game due to a slow over rate. Kieron Pollard will lead the side once again, with Devon Smith likely to be given another opportunity to impress.
After a crushing loss to the West Indies in their first game, Sri Lanka have played some good cricket, largely due to the good team-spirit they have displayed as a unit under the captaincy of Angelo Mathews. Sri Lanka have peaked at the right time, and it would be important for them to sustain the form they showed against India in their next two games also. Upul Tharanga and Mahela Jayawardene broke many a records in their 213-run opening partnership, a partnership which would have really lifted the morale of the entire side. Sri Lanka were also impressive with the ball, and put in a good fielding performance to go with their batting heroics. They would hope to maintain the fine balance in their squad that they seem to have found when they take on the West Indies too.
