6.4-Magnitude Earthquake Hit Bali
A strong earthquake hit the Indonesian island of Bali on Saturday morning, according to the Indonesian seismologist agency. There were no immediate reports of injury or damage.
The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.4, struck 35 miles west-southwest of Mataram on Indonesia's Lombok island, 68 miles from Denpasar, the capital of Bali Province. The earthquake did not trigger a tsunami.
The earthquake was originally reported by users on the social networking website Twitter. On late Friday, an earthquake registered the same magnitude struck eastern Indonesian islands on North Maluku Province. There were no reports of injuries or damage in this earthquake either.
Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago nation, sits along the Pacific Ocean's Ring of Fire, where the meeting of continental plates causes high volcanic and seismic activity.

Hi,it shaked today in the morning yes. it was my first earthquake and it startedt softly going up in three phases. The sound from such a earthquake is horrible. I see no damages in Ubud and people from Kuta near Denpasar told me that they see nothing as well.

Im living in Nakula, Legian. We were in a 3rd floor apartment building when the quake struck, pretty scarey. Our tv smashed a few things went flying. Coming into Kerobokan this morning i have seen three roofs that have collapsed and a structural brick wall has fallen down.

We live in Padang Bai and the strength of the quake was tremendous, shook the windows and lasted for quite a few seconds, further tremors have been felt throughout the day.

I was there in a panok in Nusa Dua when it happened, it woke me up. I did not think it was as large as it was, but I was also asleep when it hit. We looked carefully at the ocean because of the Tsunami issue but the ocean didn't do anything. In the are we were staying did not seem to receive any damage. I think that a few dozen people were hurt from falling debris around the island, not much more than that. The earthquake seemed to come in two waves. One for a few seconds then a couple second pause then another slightly harder quake.
