6 Found Dead in Memphis Home

Six people have been found dead at a Memphis home and three children are in critical condition in hospital.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Six people, including two children, have been found dead in a Memphis home and three other children were found in critical condition and hospitalized.

Memphis Fire Department spokeswoman Melanie Young said all nine were gunshot victims.

The hospitalized children were 7 years old, 4 years old and 10 months. She did not know the ages or sexes of the other victims.

Police were called by a relative who knocked on the door around 6 p.m. on Monday but could not get an answer.

Rob Robinson, who owns the brick, single-family home, told the paper Cecil Dotson, his girlfriend, a baby, and at least one other child lived there.

Police did not immediately release information about a motive or potential suspects.

MEMPHIS - In one of the worst mass murders in recent Memphis history, six people - including two children - were found killed in a home in the city's Binghamton area Monday.

Three other children found in the home were taken to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in extremely critical condition, police said.

Just before 6 p.m., a relative of one of the children knocked on the door but couldn't raise anyone.

That relative called police, who discovered the killings after forcing entry into the home. Some of the dead were found in the living room, while others were found in bedrooms.

Quoting unidentified sources, WMC reports that the adults were shot, the children were stabbed and all of the bodies were found in the same room.
