650 World Class Scientists Say Global Warming is Nonsense
This week a US Senate report will voice the opinion of 650 top scientists to the effect that global warming is nothing more than a 'religion' founded on bad science and misinformation.
UN Blowback: More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims
Study: Half of warming due to Sun! –Sea Levels Fail to Rise? - Warming Fears in 'Dustbin of History'
POZNAN, Poland - The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.
The U.S. Senate report is the latest evidence of the growing groundswell of scientific opposition rising to challenge the UN and Gore. Full Report Set To Be Released in the Next 24 Hours – Stay Tuned…
A hint of what the upcoming report contains:
“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.
“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.”
"Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist.

Global Warming has been a fast horse for politicians and lawyers around the world.

Seems like a great many specialists are now publicly taking a stand for truth.

Global Warming is so 'in' that radical avant-garde are now denying it. Even Noory's guests speak against GW with increasing frequency.

If you hadn't written it, I would have. :)
Far from the "less than 10 scientists in dissent" over global warming offered by some pundits as complete malarkey [err, truth! *cough*]...

Mr. Mirkin !
I just read your article. Very well researched and written. Sombody should drop a few bucks into your paypal account for that post - Seriously !! Unfortunately, it won't be me, as I am almost broke !
Finally, thank you for the link-back to this article - nicely done.

Aren't we all these days? ;o]
Thanks for the praise! I generally try to come at a subject from multiple vantage points (IE, read several articles on a topic and then synthesize a bigger picture out of the interlocking pieces).
Lately, the AGW 'fraud' (so-called) has been of increasing interest. Apparently 'skeptics' (some call them 'deniers,' some call them 'debunkers') are no longer lone wolves in the wood. When you suddenly have 650 scientists coming forward and saying "Hey, wait a minute!" people should sit up and listen. Disconfirming data is and should remain a cornerstone of science. In some cases it can be impossible to 'prove' a theory (especially theories with so many variables: AGW, Big Bang, etc. etc.), however, theories can be falsified or at least undermined by counter-example or by refuting the data presented in support (as in the case of the infamous 'Hockey Stick Graph' or the claim that "this october was the warmest on record," or the claim that "the last few years have been the hottest in the last century," etc. etc.).
Time for a re-evaluation!
Cheers,

IMHO, it's fairly obvious that solar radiation is increasing ( the Sun's getting hotter ), and this accounts quite well for increased global Earth temperatures.
Observations suggest the other planets in our system are heating up as well ... Coupled with the soaring rise world wide in human skin cancers as well as with the obvious high altitude cloud seeding observed, documented and commented on by large numbers of individuals both here in the States as well as in European countries ( presumably to reflect solar radiation back out into space ) and the conclusion really is a no-brainer ...
Granted, Co2 levels have risen dramatically during the industrial era, but the contribution of this to overall environmental warming is probably rather small compared to the solar contribution.

Ehm, is it just me, or would it take a heck of a lot of "warming" to boil the oceans... ;o]
Power laws have an exponential (more-or-less) drop-off in received energy per meter square. The further out you go, the infinitessimally smaller the amount of received light / radiation you get. To Pluto, the sun is but a tiny, tiny speck in the sky. Much like Venus or Saturn is to us. Could such a speck in the sky really account for much "global warming" at such a distance. Obviously SOME light / heat would get out that far, but it's considerably weaker than here on Earth somewhat close to the sun by comparison.
It's also interesting to note that several studies have shown the Sun may have a direct link to Earth's atmosphere, weather and/or climate.

I did take part in some off this research and we certainly did not cook up the numbers what so ever. 70% and more are most likely due to Human factors alone.

In true fashion, if the science does not conform to inbred beliefs, deny it. The Inquisition would be proud, possibly envious.

All the stupid village people again united for americas carbon car lobby 50% coal fired power plants; CO2 stinkers. I think the only solution is we come the ROW and shut it off for you, before we don't take a breath. How many from you get $20 to $250 to promote that $hit. In france we have a word for splendid isolation egocentric we say "non sociable". If it's cold than you have the climate change you created desert climate hot cold, have fun. I survived the first heat wave at the french riviera 2003, 15 000 dead. It's not the temp. it is no Oxygen, that you will die.People are responsable for what they do, but also for what they refuse to do. You don't get away that you signed nothing for the planet at Poznan; Poverty and isolation are the price to pay. The US is leader in wars but ZERO in environment. So what should Obama do with you, buy you a tube to inhale the gases of your car they are very healthy as you say, it's just the sun don't mind.
