7th-Grade Teacher in Northwest Florida Tells Students That Barack is "N" Word

A 7th grade teacher in the Marianna area of Northwest Florida used the "N" word relating to Democratic Nominee, "Barack Obama". Greg Howard, a middle school teacher used an acronym to describe what he felt to be the meaning for the popular statement of Barack Obama's that "Change" is needed. On September 26, the teacher wrote on the bulletin board that in his opinion, "Change" as it relates to Barack Obama stands for, "C"ome, "H"elp, "A" "N"i*g*r, "G"et, "E"lected. Howard has been a teacher for 17 years and his social studies class at the time of the incident was made up of 17 whites, 6 blacks and 1 asian. Parents are angry and want the 7th grade teacher fired but so far Howard has only received a 10 day suspension. Larry Moore, superintendent of the Jackson County School district stated that they do not feel Howard needs to be fired. NAACP officials will wait for the outcome of the investigation before they take any actions.

If that;s what this person is thinking he should not be teaching. This is 2008 and still we find people that dislike BLACKS and think that we should be maid, butlers and driver for them.
I feel sorry for him because his time is coming and he will not be able to stand what is put on him by word of MOUTH!!!!
I hope that the classroom minds was elevated above his narrow minding thinking!!!

As you can see America has not changed and its not going to change. African Americans are continuing to face racism from jobs, insurance companies, colleges, schools, stores like Wal-Mart and mainly Mississippi. The minds of people who dislike someone because of their skin color has a mental problem, a serious mental problem. To those that dislike someone because of their skin color take that up with God because he made us. The white house don't and wont determine how I live my life and make a living. I depend on God and not man on earth. I live in a racist state where whites are open with their hate and display it all the time. God is the ruler of all and he will take care of those with hate in their hearts for african americans.

He needs to be fire. This is another form of unjustices and double standards. If this teacher would had been black and made a derogatory statement like that regarding Mccain, he would have been fired on the spot. Also, he would had been spreading all over the national media outlets with his picture on every channel!!

This does not surprise me one bit! I have been to this part of Florida....The civil war still rages on. These people are not ignorant....they are simply stupid! How can they change...look at whose teaching them. Sad! Very sad!

To Larry Moore,
Superintendent of the Jackson County School District, Let me start by saying that Greg Howard, you and anybody else that feels that his statement is an acceptable one, and or thinks that he should keep his job, is as much a bigot as he. Not one of you should be working for and or recieving pay from a job, paid for by the tax payers of the state, and funded by the United States Government. It is totally ridiculous for anyone to think that such talk is acceptable. Nevertheless, I won’t spend my time dwelling on it now that I’ve told you what I think, because there is a God, and although you may not think much of Him, you will have to give an account one day about your decision to turn your back and willingly accept wrong for right.
