Eight people have died in a traffic accident near Oklahoma's Will Rogers Turnpike, when a tractor trailer hit a line of cars in traffic and killed occupants of the vehicles.

This was near the border of Missouri and Kansas.

Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown says traffic was stopped because of an earlier accident when the big rig slammed into at least three cars, causing them to crash into more vehicles.

Brown says investigators don't believe the driver of the tractor-trailer tried to stop before the crash. The truck driver was not among those killed.
