Bok Chul Kang is the alias for a North Korean friend of mine I recently re-united with during one of his excursions into Seoul South Korea where he pointed out to me the influences of western decadence the U.S. have bestowed upon the South Korean.
Bok told me he got special treatment recently in North Korean when he was selected to watch The Oscars after he had been permitted to see the western capitalist propaganda film "Gran Torino" where Clint Eastwood did not win an Oscar even though he felt so bad about killing one of them during the Korean War that he gave away his medal to another asian kid who wasn't even Korean but a Hmong who tried to steal his car. Bok stated that Clint Eastwood has always had racial issues. He pointed out that in the "Dirty Harry" series co-workers informed a newly assigned officer that Harry(Clint) didn't like anybody including blacks and asians. The new officer who happened to be hispanic and recently assigned to Harry as his partner asked "How do you feel about Mexicans?" Clint replied "especially spics." Bok pointed out that Clint Eastwood, a racist, was once a mayor of a major american capitalist city and that as long as Clint Eastwood continues to treat asians bad he will never win an oscar and that Mickey Rourke as "The Wrestler" died in the end of the movie cause he was fighting against the powerful Iranian. The reality of all this is when I found it in my heart to photograph this old Korean homeless woman in a stairway leading to the subway station which remained me of New York and that people are all the same except for politicians.
