Express Jet Airlines is flying again. It payed it's debt but not Aerocalifornia.

 I personally know several families affected economically by Aerocalifornia. I know some will sue the company.

Herminio Corral Estrada, State Delegate of  PROFECO(Consumers Federal Procuradury), stated the problem with Aerocalifornia is getting worse. He made emphasis on the fact that the company was not present at the first hearing before the Procuradury offices in Mexico city. A second citation was issued for wednesday August 6th, but offices are already closed and the instruction to the staff in the airport was not to receive any document, the future of the consumers is uncertain of the missed flight and future ones that were sold.

Anunció que se le requirió por segunda ocasión para mañana miércoles 6 de agosto, pero advirtió que ya que las oficinas se encuentran cerradas y que la instrucción que le dio a sus empleados en el aeropuerto es la de no recibir ningún documento, se augura un futuro incierto para los consumidores, a quienes inclusive se planea recibir las quejas no solo de los vuelos que no se cumplen sino los de un futuro próximo.

It is worrysome that central offices downtown are also closed adding more uncertainty to the users.... the silence of the company is not helping at all, he added.

Bad  news and a terrible situation for thousands of passengers that are stranded in their vacation places

Before the summer school break Aerocalifornia announced its usual half price rates, making a pre-sale of tickets up until the month of August.

This happened before in 2006 and many passengers and staff members were drastically affected by it.

My daughter comes back from Chihuahua tomorrow flying in a new airline Aerobus, we were amazed at how she found that flight a couple of weeks ago trying to save money on her plane fare. I thought it was a little airplane! But it's not.

 Well it turn out to be the best decision ever!

EL UNIVERSAL

The Secretary of Comunication and Transportation suspended Aerocalifornia and Express Jet Airlines, subsidiary of Continental, for unpaid payments as it was informed in a press conference.

The debt goes up to 259 million pesos and Express Jet Airlines ows 44 million and 559 thousand pesos.

Aerocalifornia was suspended in 2006 for security reasons.

7,700 passengers are estimated to be affected.

El adeudo Aerocalifornia es de 259 millones de pesos y Express Jet adeuda 44 millones 559 mil pesos.

Aerocalifornia fue suspendida en 2006 por causas relacionadas a la seguridad aérea.

Se estima que serán afectados unos 7 mil 700

My daughter flew from Chihuahua to Monterrey this morning but her flight Monterrey La Paz has been delayed. That's something I had heard about this new airline. Delayed flights.

I did not get informed of the situation with AeroCalifornia; to my surprise on July 26, 2008 at TJ airport come to find out this whole problem with AeroCalifonia.  My vacation time from 7/26/08 and 8/11/08 got ruined; why becuase these guys just did not feel like paying. It's  truly unacceptable. I want my money back just like the Mexican government does. Will the Mexican government care for any of the affected people. What is going on; this airline is not even picking up their phone lines and their web page is down. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told in TJ on 7/26/08 by Aero California personnel that by Friday August the 1st they would start flying again. I came back to California and calling them on Monday 7/28/08 and Tuesady 7/29/ no answer I believe it was on Wednesday 7/30/08 when someone actually picked up the phone and said not until 8/5/08 they will get a decision on Aero California flying permit problem. I called all day today 8/5/08 and no luck. Can someone get an update for us the people affected by this issue. I actually paid for 5 tickets for my whole family and now we are just here waiting to hear some good news. I beleive being the time for school is already here we will not be able to fly for a little trip after all. Is there someone out there that can get an update. It's kind of strange but not even Profeco 1.800.468-8722 is picking up their phone lines. What is going on in TJ Mexico with Aero California Airline. Please assist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, last time something like this happened it took months, some almost a year for people to get their refunds back. But this time it seems to be worst because they are closing down. I heard in the radio today that Profeco  is filing the complains against the company 150 in La Paz, so far, but each complain represents families like yours in most cases. The problem is they owe millions.

I know Aerocalifornia is not making any announcements or answering any questions. They're not taking responsibility in this situation, that's why it's workers are on strike. I know Profeco is filing complains, but I also know their phones are not being answered. There are two airlines flying stranded passengers but only when they have space available. This is a terrible situation, I'm really sorry you are going through this.

I'm very concerned about this myself. I bought 3 roundtrip  tickets to Guadalajara for our Christmas vacations...I would also like to know of any updatates with this, I definetly want my money back....es cierto que lo barato sale caro... I've had to learn the hard way..

I truly appreciate your response. Finally, I hear something. What would be my next step to follow. Do I need to come to TJ to file my complain which I know it's not unique. Please give me some advises. I have two little ones and going to TJ was a big headache that day 7/26/08 which supposedly me and my family would fly to GDL. Again I so much appreciate your response.

I'm very concerned about you and all the persons in a similar situation. I have an appointment tomorrow with two local reporters ( t.v and radio) to get you more accurate information if possible. A coworkers' husband was layed off from Aerocalifornia, I'll ask her what she knows.

 rosaelia de bakersfield calif. yo conpre 2 tikets por internet  llene todos los pasos que dise  en la conputadora paso #4 y alli dise lla su boleto esta confirmado solo tiene que ir awestern uniony page su pasaje  antes de 7/15/8 bien si lo ise i al mismo tienpo estaba ablando con las personas para desirles adonde se los mandaba  y lla me dijo aque lo pusiera a aerocalifornia #numerasion y bueno asi lo ise pero por que no disen senora lla laconpania no esta funsionando bien no podemos benderle mas tiketes pero ellos sigen estafando atoda la jente  esto que estan asiendo no esta bien estoy tan enojada por que asen esto aora creo que perdi mi dinero ni ban abenir mi familia ni llo  sin dinero si no me debuelben mi dinero llo si los boy a demandar ysi es posible asta por mas  para que no estean rovando por que esto es una robadera  atoda la jente que nos dejamos  tenemos que aser algo traten de alludarnos asta pronto soy de bakersfild ca.

Hi Pat,

I really wich that you are able to get us an update on this situation. For my opinion the Mexican government should look out for the consumers problem as well. I am sure they will get their money somehow; I just hope they don't forget about the affected people too. I actually borrow the money to go see my mother in law which has been sick and has been asking for us to bring our little ones which she has not met. Being my father-in-law passsed away just a year ago we really made an effort to plan on going being my mother-in-law depression. I dont only owe the money which I am paying interest but not trip. This is such a bad situation for me. I hope we get compensated fairly. Hey, can you also ask what do we need to do to get a refund.

Amazing how they keep the web site was open to keep the cash flow going on "cheap tickets",  then shut down with no point of contact. If your lucky enough, you can dispute the claim with your credit card company and not get charged. I bought tickets for the holidays and 1 in August(my wife is from mazatlan), so it's very convenient for her to cross over from San diego to the airport. Me being American, and having dealt with the endless frustration of how things happen south of the border for many years has finally come to an end. Another trip ruined...now, can somebody down their ever get their act together and see how a country or business is supposed to be operated!..and all of you know what I'm talking about!

I purchased round trip tickets from Tijuana to La Paz. I flew to La Pas and was stranded there the day the Aero California was grounded. I had to spend and additional 1,800 dollars to keep my wife and kids an additional day. Needless to say; that includes car rental, hotel, food and the purchase of a flight from a different airline. Did anyone from Aero California offer even a cab? No....So now I have un used tickets of which I am trying to get a refund but there is no one on the other side to respond! Can anyone tell me or point me in the direction of which I should be going with this.

Contact your credit card companies for return of payment for non receipt of goods... has anyone tried this option

I filled the complain with my bank and it;s a process of investigation and I have to wait 90 days to see if I can at least get the money back from my credit card. Thanks dscocal.

Siento de verdad lo que todos los miembros de esta compania estan pasado, pero no solo ellos sino nosotros como consumidores, el pasado julio 2008 compramos 4 boletos de avion viajes redondos, fueron pagados con una tarjeta de credito, y al llegar al aeropuerto, fueron cobrados otra vez , y cuando mis familiares quisieron regresar nos dimos cuenta que la aerolinea tenia problemas, y nadie nos podia decir nada las recepcionistas nos dejaban en la linea horas y despues nos colgaban y al no tener ninguna respuesta nos vimos en la necesitas de comprar otrs boletos de avion, y desgraciadamente el gasto se triplico, pues se compraron los boletos 3 veces

1.- Con tarjeta de Cretito (No nos han regresado el dinero)

2.-Cuando llegaron al aeropuerto (No aparecia la confirmacion)

3.-Cuando quisieron regresarse ( estaba en guelga) 

Por favor si alguien pueda ayudarme, se los voy a agradecer mucho gracias.

mi esposo compro unos boletos en esta aerolinia y desgraciamente no pudimos viajar. tuvimos que comprar otros boletos y pusimos queja a profeco pero pues le ponena uno un monton de requisitos recibi un email pidiendome direcion fisica de la aerolinea pero no la puedo conseguir ya que los compre por intenet alguien me puede ayudar  con ello.

angelica  anostros nos paso lo mismo ya que aerocalifornia fue suspendida y no hemos podido recuperar el dinero sometimos una queja a profeco pero mi piden una dirrection fisica de la compania y no la puedo conseguir ya que los boletos fueron comprados en internet y profeco sale que si no la consigo no prosede la queja

Iwolud like to know what can I do regarding my tickets? I put a claim at profeco but the thing is taht a need a physicaaddreess so profeco would be able to send them a mail so they go to the trail. I have no idea where to get that from. I but the tickets on the internetI would appreciate your help
