A Afgan governor killed in firefighting involving Australian special force.commandos were petroling on foot when they were fired on by unknown attackers . local reporter said khan went to help a friend who mistakenly told him his house was under Taliban attack when it was autually surrounded by international forces, who in turn moistook Khan's party for millitants.

Chora District Governor and tribal leader Rozi Khan Barekzai was among a number of people killed when an Australian patrol became involved in a firefight on Thursday near their Tarin Kowt base, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) said in a statement.

"It is not possible at this time to determine that he was killed by ADF fire," the military said.

Australia, a close Washington ally, was an original member of the U.S.-led coalition which arrived in the country in 2001 to oust the Taliban and al Qaeda fighters.

thanks mr sanjay,

this is second incident of death.........oho killing of governer, but this time by the security forces itself. their statement of 'misunderstanding' shows that how insecure the force is , yhey even cant verify whom they are going to kill. this is the most fundamental difference in security forces and a terrorist group.
