As far as I am concerned the "Gloves are Off" in respecting Taliban's right when captured. The Taliban duping a young baby to strap on explosives and walk towards our troops, killing one Afghan Soldier and wounding two Canadian soldiers, shows the Taliban are the lowest of the low in Human life and should be treated as such. Canadian troops when capturing the Taliban were to have assurances that when handed over to Afghani authourities they would not be tortured or harmed in anyway, as our Canadian Opposition Members of Parliament demanded this of our Government. What of the childs rights? What of his Family's Grief?
It is a given this child did not know he was a walking timebomb. The Taliban the Scum they are, should be shot on sight, take no prisoners approach.
As for Torture, well let me tell you, if it gets Intel, and captures Taliban, it is worth it. By capturing Taliban, perhaps a child will not get duped by the captured Taliban into strapping on explosives and doing this all over again. To me that is a Price worth Paying. I am sure God, any God would agree, as it is said "Suffer the Little Children" truer words ever spoken.
Suicide bomber who injured Canadians was a boyThe suicide bomber who killed an Afghan soldier and wounded two Canadian soldiers Friday was a young boy, CTV News has learned. A second Afghan soldier was also injured in the attack.
The incident occurred while the soldiers were conducting a foot patrol in a village in Zhari district, just west of Kandahar City, around 10 a.m. local time.
Military sources said the boy was around 10 years old, CTV's Paul Workman reported Friday from Kandahar.
The sources said the bomb was possibly detonated from a distance by remote control.
"We do know that the soldiers saw the kid approaching," said Workman.
"There's some suggestion that he had his arms in the air and that's why they suspect that it may have been detonated by somebody else."
Workman said the bombs could have also been on a timer.
"This is a very, very unusual attack, the Canadians really don't know what to expect," said Workman.
"The Taliban seem to be trying new tactics."
