AFP facilitates leadership workshop in Indonesia

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) facilitated a management and leadership skills workshop at the Jakarta Center for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC) last week, an Australian Embassy press release said here on Thursday.

It said thirty female Indonesian police officers attended the workshop as part of the Center`s commitment to enhance the skills of the region`s police officers.

The workshop, held from May 26 to 30 was the first in a series of workshops designed to meet particular needs of special interest groups in the Indonesian National Police (INP), including women.

It provided an opportunity to mentor officers and share experiences on different leadership approaches, the impact of gender and culture on management styles, the definition and impact of emotional intelligence, coaching, monitoring and networking.

The group brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the workshop, with a combined INP service among the participants.

INP Senior Inspector Sri Rejeki said "This training on management and leadership is very beneficial as we look into the future."
