AG Eric Holder Finally Held Accountable
Embattled US Attorney General, Eric Holder, is finally experiencing the repercussions of his actions.
After frustrating a probe led by Darrel Issa over the death of border patrol agent, Brian Terry in the midst of the operation Fast and Furious scandal for more than a year now, Holder is finally tasting the bitterness of the consequences. Many have wondered just how long it would take the Republicans involved in the investigation to finally respond.
Even with President Obama using his executive powers to deny Congress the evidence demanded by the investigation committee, a vote will be taken in the Senate on convicting AG Eric Holder for contempt of Congress. Of course this move was inevitable, yet Holder still defiantly denies that this implication of his refusal to cooperate with Congress is justified. Obviously the Attorney General sees himself as above the law.
With a panel who have already voted 23-17 in favor of contempt charges being brought up against the Attorney General, it remains to be seen whether or not Republicans will stick to their initiative and make Eric Holder accountable for 15 months of stonewalling the release of evidence that will confirm who knew about and at what time events took place. Many have alleged that President Obama and Attorney General Holder were conducting a campaign to justify gun control by using Fast and Furious to make the case that with cartels buying weapons in the US there was reason for stiffer gun control if not banning of citizen gun ownership all together.
With the numerous scandals that have already taken place under President Obama’s first term, few are surprised at the conspiratorial aspects of a scheme that seems to have been unleashed by the Obama administration to further restrict basic Constitutional rights of US citizens by spilling the blood of border patrol agents in order to achieve their goals. Think of one of Obama’s first ploys once elected which was imposing carbon footprint along with Cap and Trade upon Americans already reeling from a severe recession. The actions of the President and his administration have demonstrated time and again little sympathy for the plight of Americans unless there is a political reward for it.
Consider the sacrifice of former ATF agent John Dodson, the whistle blower, responsible for blowing the lid off Operation Fast and Furious. He was forced to move his family, has suffered a backlash of rejection and alienation from other agents he once served with along with the condemnation of the Obama administration. For what? Doing his job, and reporting corruption among his peers and commanders has literally ruined his career. What does this say about the entire make up of law enforcement agencies in the US who are willing to allow having border patrol agents killed in order to conduct operations of questionable and illegal merit?
There is more here than meets the eye about our government than just one botched enforcement operation. The entire chain of events from walking deadly weapons purposely across the border into the arms of the drug cartel, our agents being killed by these firearms, and official denial from the very top, not to mention the ridicule suffered by those willing to come forward and tell the truth-speaks volumes for the level of corruption. Not only corruption is evident here by the Obama administration, but there is a deadly lack of respect for human rights or the safety of the American public, and it has been made very obvious by the menacing actions of a fascist type of leadership and command structure such as the ATF. An infamous organization whose senseless atrocities still reverberate from the Waco tragedy a few years back!
