For Chris’ sake knock it off

He is a government lawyer who is just completing his job as New Jersey governor. He has no private sector experience, no military experience, nada. He is unqualified.

“Adviser: Christie seriously considering White House bid

By Jackie Kucinich, USA TODAY

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is seriously considering a run for president and is taking the weekend to think about whether he will launch a bid, according to an adviser.

"He's thinking long and hard about it," the adviser, who spoke under condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the decision.

"He has received encouragement from people from all walks of life," the adviser said, adding that no one knew which way he would decide at this point.

The Asbury Park (N.J.) Press reported this morning about Christie's possible change of heart and noted that up until recently Christie has been adamant about his decision to sit 2012 out .

Christie has spent the past few months trying to dismiss speculation he would run for president. He has said no to the possibility so many times that at one point earlier this year he joked he would "have to commit suicide" to convince people he would not run.

During a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library this week, Christie pointed to a montage of his "no" answers put together by Politico when asked whether he would reconsider a presidential bid.

That speech, during which he accused President Obama of dividing the country and talked about American exceptionalism, caused another avalanche of chatter about Christie's ambitions.

The Star Ledger reported he "no longer says he's unprepared for the White House or that he lacks the requisite fire in the belly for a national campaign" and his wife, Mary Pat, no longer is against a run.

The influx of encouragement and interest, caused in part by a lack of satisfaction among some Republicans with the current field, has caused Christie to reconsider. Christie has only a few more weeks to make his decision since state primary deadlines start in mid-October.”
