Don't step on orange

Visiting the UK and London in particular, one might be aware that people with dogs permit their pets to poop on the sidewalk without picking it up. In America, pet owners must follow their pooches and pick up their poopies. There are dispensers and receptacles providing biodegradable plastic bags and “litter” bins.

There are stiff fines for failing to pick up. People are largely responsible and it is rare to come across a pile on your way.

“Dog mess in Redditch sprayed orange to deter fouling

Dog poo found in a borough in Worcestershire will be sprayed orange to highlight the problem of dog fouling in public, councillors have decided.

Redditch Borough Council said dog owners had no excuse not to clean up after their pets.

Fouling carries a £50 on-the-spot fine and can transmit infections that cause blindness, fits and asthma in humans.

The council said it hoped spraying poos would draw people's attention to the issue and remind them to clear up.

Council officers will patrol problem areas and the dog fouling campaign will run until October.”
