Iran's re-elected President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has delayed his visit to Russia to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit over violent protests that sparked in Iran's capital today in the wake of Iran's Presidential elections. Russian officials said that attendance of President Ahmadinejad at the summit is still unconfirmed and more details will be available later in the day.

Officials said that Mr Ahmadinejad would not be appearing on the first day of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the central Russian city of Yekaterinburg, but was still expected to arrive on Tuesday.
A Kremlin official was more circumspect about the chances of Mr Ahmadinejad coming to the meeting, saying his attendance would only be confirmed later in the day.
"It will become clear by the evening. It will all depend on the situation in their country.''
The Iranian Embassy in Moscow says President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has put off a visit to Russia, and it is unclear whether he will come at all.
The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization ends Tuesday. Iran has observer status in the group.
