Albert Fujimori, the former President of Peru, has been given a seven-and-a-half-year jail sentence for corruption.

Peru's Supreme Court convicted Fujimori of giving $15 million of government funds to his spy chief Vladimiro Montesinos. Fujimori,  who is already serving time in jail for separate corruption charges, claimed that he did make the payment, but that he later repaid the money back to the government.

Prior to the current ruling, Fujimori was sentenced to 25 years in jail for ordering killings and kidnappings by the security forces. He was also serving a six-year term after being found guilty of abuse of power.
