Brian Conley, who created the cit-journo vlogging site Alive in Baghdad, was arrested this morning in China while taking part in a pro-Tibet demonstration.

Their detention appears to have taken place at the same time as that of international artist James Powderly, whose detention was reported Tuesday. Three other bloggers and activists, Jeff Goldin, Michael Liss, and Tom Grant, have also been missing since Tuesday morning. Conley, 28, Rae, 28, Goldin, 40, Liss, 35, Grant, 39 are all American citizens.
Conley and others previously announced as having been detained were working with the group Students for a Free Tibet to document pro-Tibet protests in Beijing.
This is confirmed on Alive in Baghdad's site:

The full details of their detention are not known at this time. Conley and Rae checked out of their hotel early Tuesday morning in Beijing, and at 12:30 p.m. China Time, Conley’s wife back in Philadelphia received a text message from Conley saying “In jail. All fine.”

There aren’t many details on the detention, but Free Tibet 2008 indicates that Conley and Rae may be being held with international artist James Powderly of the Graffiti Research Lab, who was in Beijing preparing a laser light-based protest.

Alive in Baghdad's NowPublic presence can be found here. Meanwhile, no updates on Brian's Twitter feed.
