Allanah Benton-Wells Convicted for Sex with 12-Year-Old

Allanah Benton-Wells, a former teacher in Flint, MI, was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for having sex wiht a 12-year-old boy. Allanah Benton-Wells tutored the boy, whose parents found out about the nature of their relationship after hearing an inadvertently-recorded answering amchine message.
The student’s mother heard the recording on Oct. 31, 2007 and brought the accusations to light.
Allanah Benton-Wells will be sentenced on Feb 11, 2010, and faces up to 25 years in prison.
The 43-year-old Benton-Wells had denied the allegations. Defense lawyer Steven Freeman did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
