Allen and Violet Large From Nova Scotia Won $11 Million on the Lottery, But They Gave All Their Winnings Away to Charity

Allen and Violet Large say that there was no need to keep their massive winnings, when they have everything they need already.

They won $11 million four months ago, and now they have nothing left expect a number of local charities who are overjoyed at the influx of money to put to their various causes.

According to the Globe and Mail, the couple have no microwave or voicemail and drive older cars, but it never occurred to them to spend the money on themselves; they wanted instead to give the money to their family and a list of worthwhile charities. They gave their winnings to churches, health care and animal protection groups, and the hospital where Ms. Large was recently treated for cancer.

In what may be the world's most unselfish act, the Larges said they wanted to look after their community, and said they have enough money to get by just fine.
