Glowing tributes were paid to Sindhi separatist leader and sufi politician Sain G.M. Syed at a memorial meeeting in Houton Texas on Saturday on his 106th birth anniversary.

G.M. Syed had spent nearly 30 years in prison or under house arrest for his devotion to independence for Sindh.

Noted American sufi scholar, Prof. David Cook; World Sindhi Institute general secretary Humaira Rahman; scion of a family of intellectuals from Larkana, Fayyaz Shaikh; were among the speakers.

The event was organized by the World Sindhi Congress and G.M. Syed Memroial Committee.

American Friends of Baluchistan, the premier pro-independence Baluch organization in the U.S.A., also attended the memorial event. Malik Baloch, presiding council member and U.S. central and west coast organizer, led the team.

The A.F.B. said Sain G.M. Syed was not only a sufi politican but an institution in himself who has left an indelible mark on Sindh history.

The A.F.B. called for taking to task Altaf Hussain, the founder of the ethnic urban terror outfit Muttahida Qaumi Movement for fomenting ethnic killings in Karachi.

The A.F.B. representative said his heart was bleeding over the killing of Baluch in Khuzdar and countless others in Karchi at the hands of M.Q.M.. "My salutes to the mothers of Ali Dost Baloch and Saddam Baloch, 14, who were the latest victims of the Pakistani state aggression against the freedom loving of Baluchistan," he said.

The two victims were members of the Baloch Students Organization [Azad] and were killed by Pakistani security establishment in Khuzdar at a peaceful protest rally in solidarity with the Baluch killed in Karachi.

The AFB representative said:

"My salutes to Nisar Baluch and the scores of Baluch killed in Karachi on the orders of terror mastermind Altaf Hussain and Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal, offspring of the very same people who been the backbone of the Pakistani state machinery since its illegitimate birth.

"Some Urdu-speaking thugs have coined a new hitherto unknown nationality for themselves called “mohajirs.” How on earth can someone from Bihar and others from United Provinces be one ethnic group? Such nonsense can only happen in Pakistan, which in itself is not a very legitimate organization.

"My heart bleeds over any killing as one blood is not redder than other blood. But if Altaf Hussain and Mustafa Kamal personally order killing of activists who are doing good to everyone like Nisar Baluch of Old Golimar, who was tryin g to save Gutter Bagicha, the Baluch have the full right to defend themselves.

"So far the Urdu-speaking speaking people have not been touched in Baluchistan but the Anjumman Ittehad Marri, Baloch Repiblican Party and Balochistan National Party and other organizations have warned this may change if they carry on targeting the Baluch in Karachi.

"As Baluch national hero Mir Hyrbyair Marri said we are one nation, from Karachi to Zahidan.

"Pakistan the so-called "land of the pure", a word non-existent in the Urdu language, is a creation of imperial design, whose founding father was one the most arrogant lawyers of his time, Mohammed Ali Jinnah; Pakistan, the land of the pure, whose largest city is run by a terror mastermind from London, Altaf Hussain; Pakistan, the land of the pure, the main politician in power is on his seat by virtue of his slain wife, Asif Zardari; Pakistan, the land of the pure, an opposition leader with no political background but groomed by the Punjabi military to run the country, Mian Nawaz Sharif; Pakistan, land of the pure, were the Inter Services Intelligence is fomenting trouble by bleeding the Pashtuns inside and outside of Pakistan by using the very same tribes like Mehsuds and Afridis against the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan as they did at the time of the 1947 partition by targeting Brahmin Pandits in Kashmir; Pakistan, the land of the pure, hiding and sheltering some of the world's worst terrorists, Osama bin Laden and Ayman alzwahiri, and is today the international headquarters of al-Qaeda.

"This is the land of pure, ruled for more than half of its existence by the purest among the pure, the military generals.

"The Baluch never wanted and still do not want to have any truck with this land of the pure.

"One man who understood Pakistan very well was a saint from Sindh, named Saeen G.M. Syed. I am really honored and feel privileged to be in the company of followers of such an immortal sufi politician from Sindh, thanks to my dear friend Dr. Saghir Shaikh and members of the G.M. Syed Memorial Committee.

"Sindh has been the land of peace and love. The water of Sindhu river instills romance and love of humanity perhaps in all hearts, other than one man sitting in London, Altaf Hussain. The Buddhist, peaceful nature is a part of the body language of Sindhis. The clasping of hand when greeting, the warm bhakkur [friendly embrace], the touching of feet to show respect [to elders].

"Sindh the name itself is so sweet. Baluch love for Sindh has been immortalized by the story of Sassui and Punnoo.

"I have come here to pay my homage to a Sindhi saint Sain G.M. Syed. He was a saint who atoned for his sin of Masjid Manzil Gah by dedicating his life to the undoing of Pakistan, spending huge part of his life behind bars, after openly calling for the establishment of Sindhu Desh in 1973.

"Today, let me also salute the 17-year-old Sindhi Hindu girl Shamira Odd, daughter of Bachayo Odd, who was buried in a graveyard in Khuda Abad near Hala and now some clerics want her last remains removed from the graveyard as it would harm the purity of Muslims buried there. There has been longstanding tradition of joint graveyards all over Sindh in hisotry. This is a test for Sindh's sufism and I am hoping Sindh will rise to stop the desecration of the body of this Sindhi girl.

"Just because Pakistan People's Party is in government in Islamabad and some bureaucrats from Sindh have got good posting does not mean Sindhis are in power.

"I express my gratitude to Saeen G.M. Syed for his ideology of liberation as that has also helped us make a pledge that the wrongs that were committed to Sindh shall not befate Baluchistan. Each and every Baluch is fully determined that the port city of Gwadar will not become a second Karachi.

"I mean we shall not allow the ethnic flooding [Like it happened in Karachi in1947].

"Once bitten, twice shy."

Interestingly Houston, Texas, is a city that is home to victim families of the M.Q.M. chief Altaf Hussain who has been running the ethnic terror organization like a mafia chief. Family members of the founder president of M.Q.M. Azeem Ahmed Tariq, who was allegedly killed on the orders of Hussain, reside in Houston.

So does Murtaza Durrani, former M.Q.M. minister, who is a trucker there.

PICTURE: In the picture, a Baluch activist in the Turbat district has tatooed Pakistan under the sole of his feet. In most Eastern cultures, the sole of the feet is considered dirty and low and here it is an expression of disgust at Pakistan. Baluch martyrs Ghulam Mohammed and Dr. Khalid Shaheed belonged to the area.
