Vehicles of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police would escort the pilgrim convoys from Jammu to the two base camps.
This year government had done the tight security arrangement for the yatra,para military forces has been deployed in the way for the proper protection.

Officials revealed that the number of pilgrims this year can hit all time high because of "peace in the Kashmir Valley". The batch of pilgrim will reach the south Kashmir Pahalgam which is the base camp of the yatra and the north Kashmir Baltal which is the second base camp.
Till now, 250,000 pilgrims have been registered themselves with the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for the Himalayan pilgrimage. On the spot registration too has Aalso been opened for pilgrims, arriving in Jammu or in Srinagar without having prior registration.
Pilgrims are passionate about the pilgrimage for two reasons - pleasurable weather and greater sense of security along the route.
