Andrew Eiva-Part I, Baluchistan International Conference

A historic first-ever Baluchistan International Conference in the US capital called for setting up of an independent Baluchuistan in soutwhest Asia, comprising the occupied Baluch territories in Iran and Pakistan.

The conference was organized by the pro-independence American Friends of Baluchistan and attended by leading American scholars, writers, and activists -- Selig S. Harrison, Robert Selle, T. Kumar, Prof. Gul Agha, Andrew Eiva, Wendy Johnson, Annie Nocenti-- in addition to leading Baluch scholars and activists from several nations-- USA, Canada, Norway, United Kingdom and Gulf.

Saghir Shaikh, PhD., former president of the World Sindhi Congress oversaw the technical aspects of the conference, including Skype with Baluch national hero Mir Hyrbyair Marri.

The organizations represented at the conference were Center for International Policy, Amnesty International, Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Campaign International, Baloch Human Rights Council [Canada], World Sindhi Congress, World Sindhi Institute, International Kashmir Alliance, Pakistan Christian Congress.

An American female who has vowed to give her all selflessly for the independence of Baluchistan made an appeal to Iran and Pakistan to pullout from all occupied Baluch territories.

Laurie Deamer, who is from Philadelphia and has been an active member of the pro-independence American Friends of Baluchistan for more than a year now, last weekend read out the resolutions that called for the setting up of a united, free and secular Baluchistan in southwest Asia.
