I have included this series of mini-films to provide information to begin a reasoned, respectful political discourse on the subject before the next election.

I am torn on this subject.  I love what my country is suppose to stand for. I warm to the thought of repressed or economically persons being able to come to this country for a variety of reasons, but most common the for the opportunity and a chance at the American dream.

And we need immigration to prevent the decline of the American Culture.  Our current fertility rate is 2.0 children per couple.  The people that study such things say we need a fertility rate of 2.1 to remain stable and avoid a decline in our culture.

I am resigned to the idea that Caucasions will soon represent less than half of the population of the USA.  But i am afraid that the traditional American Culture is going to be lost.  US Government policy used to encourage the assimilation of new immigrant cultures into mainstream American culture.  But now, American Policies such as providing government forms in a variety of languages is actually reducing the impetus to learn English and assimilate into the American Culture.  I am concerned that large populations of various ethnic cultures are developing in different geographic areas but seperate from the Mainstream American Culture.  I am concerned that the rise of these distinct unassimilated cultural groups will lead to the fragmentation of America.  In the past, waves of different cultures have came to America.  All of these groups have assimilated into American culture, they may have flavored the mix, but the basic American culture and tradtion was not overwhelmed and lost.

I am concerned that the traditional American Culture is going to be overwhelmed and lost.
