I agree. It is insensitive and inappropriate to build a mosque at ground zero. Damage is already done at the Muslims’ effort to accomplish this. What was their purpose? To make a point. The point is, it isn’t going to happen and people are feeling worse about the entire situation as a result.

“Breaking News Alert: Most Americans against mosque near Ground Zero, poll says September 8, 2010 6:35:9 PM

Most Americans say the planned Muslim community center and place of worship should not be built in Lower Manhattan, with the sensitive locale being their overwhelming objection, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Two-thirds of those polled object to the prospective Cordoba House complex near the site of the former twin towers, including a slim majority who express strongly negative views. The new results come alongside increasingly critical public views of Islam: 49 percent of all Americans say they have generally unfavorable opinions of Islam, compared with 37 percent who say they have favorable ones. That’s the most negative split on the question in Post-ABC polls dating to October 2001.

I don't think American Muslims understand the gravity of the situation.

@letmdangle.Who on earth, with a sound mind, will not agree with you?IMO no such centre is required at any ground. The project should not have  even been thought of.Is it not intriguing that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's trip to UEA and Bahrain is sponsored by State Department?what is going on behind the doors? Why Imam is not travelling to Saudi Arabia, the single largest exporter of radical Islam? These are some questions which beg umambiguous answers. From the day one,I learnt of this project, I had doubts about intentions of Imam and his cohorts.

YJ,I am in total agreement with letmdangle on this point. The publicity and media coverage of a nondescript preacher, whose following is less in number than the number of gang of theives and proposed construction of a Muslim community centre two blocks away from ground Zero, smells the same rot,CIA.Out of fifty followers, forty nine could be undercover agents.

This relatively easy to determine as I will be in Gainesville Florida soon for a visit.

what's hilarious is that nowpublic's targeted banners is throwing "muslim singles" ads at my screen with some hooded woman that is as attractive as a, well, hooded muslim woman.

is it PC to say I'm offended? this is an outrage.

you should see the conservative sites ads for their T-shirts. 20 year old blondes with DD's. I'm coming around to their ideology.
