Virgin Islands Police Hunt Suspect In Quadruple Homicide When they heard a woman being beaten, they rushed to her rescue. Three people were killed immediately in the firestorm that followed, and another later succumbed to his injuries. Police now believe that one of the suspects, Emmanuel Polanco Vanderhorst, escaped to the continental United States.

Away from the tourist resorts, Reynold Isidore enjoys pouring drinks in his bar on St. Thomas, the Banana Split, a roadside stop with a tin roof, in a mixed industrial-residential area. “We’re good guys,” Isidore said of his clientele. “We’re cool. We don’t fight. We don’t curse each other. We have fun. I’ve never known any of them guys to have any trouble.” “Them guys” are the four friends he lost on June 17, 2006, when two gunmen walked up the ramp into the tiny barroom, and began picking customers off the bar stools. Reynold managed to escape, but the incident plays over and over in his mind. “Every time I have to go to bed, I think about this,” he told AMW. “It’s hurting me to see my friends gone. Life has never been the same. I’m just praying to God for help that one day we’re going to get these killers off the street.” AMW host John Walsh recently visited the Banana Split, and met with Reynold and the detective investigating the case. When Walsh left, the crew remained behind, toasting the victims, including Reynold’s cousin, Eustace Edgar. As Reynold’s eyes turned misty, we promised to return, to toast the arrest of suspect Emmanuel Polanco Vanderhorst.
