Amy Beck: Burbank Teacher Arrested For Sexual Affair With Student

Amy Victoria Beck, a Teacher at David Starr Jordan Middle School Arrested

Amy Beck, 33, surrendered to Burbank police on Monday and has been arrested and booked for suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a child, namely one of her students at the school where she teaches who is only 15 years old. When the affair started, the boy was only 14 years old. Burbank Leader has a photo of Amy Beck.

Ms. Beck resigned from Jordan Middle School on Friday after about 10 years of teaching English and Social Science at the school.

Due to the age of the child, no details have been released about who Beck is accused of having sex with, apart from his age, but it is being reported that the sexual relationship took place over six months, from March to September 2009.

"She said she had sexual relations with one of her students," said Burbank police Sgt. Robert Quesada.

Police have reportedly spoken to the boy and he did not deny that the affair took place and confirmed that Amy Beck was the teacher who took part in the sexual relationship. The student no longer attends Jordan Middle School but it is not known if he still goes to school in Burbank according to the Burbank Leader.

Ms. Beck could receive up to seven years in prison if she is convicted. She is being held on a $400,000 bail and is due to be arraigned Wednesday at the Superior Court in Burbank.

Police are still enquiring about information in the case, so they are asking anyone who knows anything about the alleged sexual affair to call the Burbank police department Detective Wally Schilling at (818) 238-3254.

OMG!!! I can't believe it! She was one of my FAV teachers at Jordan. I had her as an english/history teacher in 6th grade like about 5 or 6 years ago, and I was her TA in 8th grade.

So what did she do that was so terrible ? She had sex with a willing and consenting 14 year old boy. I don't think this kid suffered and I don't think he is gonna be emotionally scarred for the rest of his life. This kid is probably bragging about this to all his friends right now. Where were all these hot, sexy horny teachers when I was 14 ? LOL

I went to Jordan, I never had her as an actual teacher but I had her for 7th period once. I never saw her as that type of person. I mean you actually never see it coming, well I go to a near by school now. A lot of rumors are going around. I graduated with this kid who was involved I think because I graduated from there in 2009 when I'm guessing he did too. Most of you think this is so cool for the kid. What would you think if it was an older man teacher with a younger girl huh? Yeah thats right.

I can't see how anyone can see this conduct by MRS Beck at any level being okay! First and above all else she is a teacher, not to mention 33, or that she is MARRIED with 3 kids. I have a hard time with adults F---king kids. It does not matter if he was willing or not she was his teacher.Guys need to stop having the music video fantasy!She is my daughter favorite teacher. Everyone at the middle school is so shocked. I don't believe she turned herself in out of guilt at all. Just the mess and pain it has cause for the students and teachers at the school is awful. Does not seem she would put her Husband and kids through this if she thought she could get away with. Even if she did go to the police to clear her guilt, pretty selfish! I feel for her family, Burbank is a small town, and this will not go away anytime soon.
